Schinousa

Is a small island in the Minor Cyclades, right in the middle of the Aegean sea, it has a population of around 150 friendly people. Regular boats run from nearby Naxos, and every other day there is a boat to and from Athens.

All photographs were taken with the Olympus E1 digital SLR - exif information should be with the associated photograph.

It was a wonderful relief to be able to carry the camera and lenses without straining my shoulder. Whatever one's feelings about the potential future of the 4/3 strategy, and the Olympus E1 in particular, there is no doubt in my mind that for travelling, this outfit is second to none.

3 lenses were used, the Zuiko 11-22 f2.8/f3.5, the Zuiko 14-54 f2.8/f3.5 and the Zuiko 50-200 f2.8/f3.5

The Meltemi was blowing hard for much of the trip, and dust should have been a real issue (my camera bag was refilled with it every day). The camera and lenses were repeatedly covered in dust, however, they performed faultlessly - not a speck of dust on the sensor, and not a piece of grit in the zoom or focus rings of the lenses.
